Tribe history Gebe In Maluku
World Tribe ~ Person or People Gebi inhabit Gebe Gebe, Yu and Gag east of the southern peninsula of the island of Halmahera, North Maluku province. Generally, citizens of this Gebe tribe embraced Islam. They live off the sea fishing and little food crops. Its population is approximately 3,000 people and inhabit the four villages. Language Gebe or Gebi be classified into language groups Patani (Halmahera) of the Austronesian language family.

Gebe Island is a remote island located between the provinces of North Maluku, Halmahera district center, which has an area that is not too large and wide for Gebe elongated shape.
In Gebe also comprises of various races and ethnic groups that live in it besides Tribe Gebe itself, including Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Makassar, Manado, Gorontalo, Papua, West Papua, Ambon, and of various races, ethnicities, and cultures this is responsible for patterns of life on the island Gebe slightly advanced than other regions.
Gebe can be reached via transport by air, land and sea with a wide variety of selection paths. Accessibility to the Gebe through the air starting from Jakarta (Java) to the city of Makassar (South Sulawesi) for transit and proceed to the city of Ternate, the capital of North Maluku province and then to Gebe. The problem was the flight from Kota Ternate to Gebe only done 3 times a week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) by using small aircraft berpenumpang only 12 people.
Limitations flight and payload capacity make more people willing to Gebe of Kota Ternate should use capital in the form of sea transport ferry from Vedic City (the capital of Central Halmahera). From the city of Ternate towards Vedic City through the City Sofifi (prospective Capital of North Maluku Province) by using the ferry which was then followed by using ground transportation to the capital city of the Vedas. Travel by ferry from Vedic City towards Gebe and instead only with the frequency of once every week.

Characteristic of indigenous communities Gebe Island is not too different from the characteristic of the indigenous people of Papua in general have a rather swarthy skin and curly hairstyle.
